Injuries are a ubiquitous fact of life. However, despite multiple millions of new cases each year and several billions of dollars in annual health care costs, there are no effective treatments for many types of complex injuries, such as those in the skin and spinal cord.

Create an inventory of all your content.
Identify all of the files and content in your course, document or website that can be accessed online.
Spring clean your content and pages.
Delete or archive as much unused material as possible.
Archived files: Archived material does not need to be made accessible, but it must (a) be web content that is not currently used and will not be used but for reference, research, or record-keeping and (b) be organized and stored in a dedicated area or areas identified as being archived (see an example of an archived webpage on the Justice Department's site).
Prioritize the remaining content and pages, so you can tackle the most high-risk content first.
Prioritize the content to be remediated by:
Usage: Courses with the most students; webpages with the most traffic; and documents and communications consumed by the most people
Importance: Courses, documents or websites involved in providing core university services online (e.g., required courses; admission applications; fire safety training)
Audience: Courses, documents or websites intended for people with disabilities
Known issues: Courses, documents or websites reported by users as having accessibility issues
Everything else: The remaining courses, documents or websites not prioritized
Once you've prioritized your content, test it for accessibility compliance.
Once you've tested your content and pages, fix the accessibility problems you found.
